participating.
Great show

and West End stage on Saturday.
THANK YOU
to everyone who came out for the great weather all three days. Early
estimates of 25,000 to 30,000 in attendance with over 200 crafters,
food vendors, and civic non –profit organizations on Saturday.
Highlights
Saturday was the kick off of the 3rd Annual 5K walk/run, which raised
$2,200 in sponsorships and fees which will benefit the Beverly M.
Smith Scholarship fund. The event was sponsored by the Pickens Women’s
Association.
The 2nd
Annual Chili Cook Off Saturday morning raised over $5,500 for the
Pickens County Meals on Wheels.

Williams rocked the crowd Saturday night, which wrapped up a
successful three-day event.
We wish to thank our many sponsors for
helping to make the 2009 Azalea Festival a reality. We deeply
appreciate their sponsorship of this important community event. A good
time was truly had by ALL!
Thanks to
the City of Pickens, Police and Streets & Sanitation workers for their
assistance. They are a hard working group of dedicated City employees
who helped make the festival possible. Thanks to the Pickens Chamber
of Commerce and the volunteers of the Azalea Festival Planning
Committee and many individuals who work for months to create the
festival each year. Their ideas and input keep making the Azalea
Festival bigger and better each year.
Mark your calendars for next year – third weekend in April for the
2010, 26th Pickens Azalea Festival with new activities, attractions
and delights. We look forward to seeing you then!
